G324 - Analysis of Digipak (similar genre to our artist)

Colour/Design:
The colouring for the majority of this digipak is very muted apart from Gabrielle Aplin herself and the props she uses. The name of the album is English Rain this explains the image and use of the umbrella prop and the focus that is drawn to it by the use of colour. Also, the large balloons that have brighter colour than the rest of the scenery links to the artwork for the single Panic cord from this album.

There is also a lot of nature featuring in the photographs used throughout each side of this digipak. This is a continuous style that Gabrielle Aplin follows throughout a lot of her music videos and also in the previous Panic Cord single artwork example.

The one long photograph that continues over several of the panels of the digipak also gives it a continuous style throughout. The booklet is not usually signed, but Gabrielle Aplin did a selected amount of signed copies of her digipak that the first people to buy her CD from her website got. This is a good way of promoting and encouraging people to buy the album as it will be one of few signed copies, making it more special and significant to the others.

Packaging: The CDs slip into the sides of the digipak, this means the packaging is cheaper and also creates more surfaces on the digipak to include pictures/information. The booklet that comes included within the digipak includes things such as images of the artist and information about the album, lyrics and information about the artist herself.
