G324 - Music Artist Poster

Looking at real media texts/examples of Music artist posters will help us when we create our music video and music artist poster. This is because we can learn from how the two tasks have been connected within these real media texts and apply it to our own work.

These Lady Gaga billboards are counting down to the release of her new music video for her new song "Applause". The top left photograph shows the image used as the cover of her new single/album which was previously released, fans will recognise this image and pay attention to the billboard and it's purpose there. It's also a very striking/colourful image, meaning those who are not fans of Lady Gaga and have not seen it before will pay attention to it, questioning what it is.

From the top right photograph and the bottom photograph we can see that the text along the bottom is scrolling across and says "Put your hands up make 'em touch. A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E. Music Video Premiere". These scrolling words give a line of lyrics from the song along with the name of the song and why it's being shown. This writing paired with the image of the cover and the countdown to it's release tells the passers by everything they need to know in order to see the music video.
